Eryn Dixon is a doctoral candidate in the Woodward Lab in the Department of Physiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She earned her B.Sc in Biology and Neuroscience at Bridgewater College in Virginia. Her dissertation work focuses on the development of new in vitro model systems to study autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease. These cellular models have led to identification of new proteins that may play a novel role in cyst initiation in renal epithelial cells. She is a basic science blogger for the Renal Fellow Network, a member of the American Physiological Society’s (APS) policy committee for Animal Care and Experimentation, and serves on the trainee advisory committee for the APS Epithelial Transport Group.
